A selection of warm and Hygge rugs for the decoration of any rooms of your home.
Rugs are able to give a touch of warmness, elegancy and welcome to an environment.
Changing the face of your home is actually much simpler than it seems. Available in an infinite number of sizes and shapes, they can be adapted to any room, from the smallest to the largest rooms. Handmade with wool from New Zealand or Afghanistan, design rugs have become an almost indispensable decorative element for the decoration of a house, thanks to their beauty and their impressive visual impact. The company that most distinguishes itself in the creation of successful carpets is the Spanish Nanimarquina, famous throughout the world for its true works of art. Below you can admire some of their most famous rugs, strictly handmade.
The designer took the ispiration from Rangoli, a Hindu floral design with a long historic tradition: it is a welcome symbol which provides protection or offers good luck. The pattern is normally composed of flower petals, leaves, coloured powders, rice flour, and other elements that act as a vehicle for decoration. It’s charm and discreet elegancy make it perfect for the decoration of hallways, large living rooms and, in the smaller version, of bed rooms.
Totally handmade in India it is composed by twenty different colours that, mixed together, create an unique and surprising visual impact. The colours form a magic checkerboard of vibrant colours that create a rhythmic sensation of movement. This design, born from a seemingly random combination of shades, actually follows a very specific linear sequence.
Losanges Rug Nanimarquina was designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec who created an elegant collection of exclusive rugs available in three different sizes. With the Losanges collection, the Bouroullec brothers continue their study of simplicity and elegance, reinterpreting the traditional Persian rug by using ancient kilim techniques. Technically complex, the Losanges collection requires great skill due to the combination of 13 colours in the geometrical rhombus pattern, a great challenge for the craftsmen of northern Pakistan.
The Luna Rug Nanimarquina was designed by Oscar Tusquets Blanca who created an unique, original round rug suitable for the decoration of any space and environment: from bedrooms to hallways, from waiting rooms to offices… The Luna Rug is a re-edition of the designer’s La Luna rugs from the ’80s. Advances in photographic techniques have allowed for a more exact reproduction of the moon, offering greater definition.
These are some of my favourite design rugs I have ever seen. The colours used are simply amazing and vibrant, giving a lot of light to the environment. I saw the Nanimarquina production, for the first time, at the Salone del Mobile in Milan and I can guarantee that the visual impact is breathtaking!! I hope you liked my article and, if you have the possibility, I reccomend you to have a look at these fantastic art works.
