Milan Design Week 2019. What we saw, what excited us and what we will remember about the design event of the year.
A week of design in Milan. The international furniture fair, Salone del Mobile, in Rho, events, exhibitions and appointments also in the heart of Milan to celebrate the design in all its forms.
The Salone del Mobile:
The Salone del Mobile in Milan represents a worldwide reference point in the design and furnishing sector, transforming itself into an extraordinary promotional vehicle for designers, companies, architects and manufacturers. It was founded in 1961 with the aim of promoting Made in Italy furniture and accessories all over the world, now it is a trampoline for foreign producers as well.
Fuorisalone means the set of events distributed in different areas of Milan that take place at the International Furniture Fair. Fuorisalone was born spontaneously in the early ’80s from the will of companies in the furniture and industrial design sector that wanted to offer alternative and original events to celebrate the Made in Italy and design. Today, the Fuorisalone has extended to many related sectors, including automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food too.
